1. Who we are

These terms apply when you buy a new shower from our online shop. The seller is Chris I-O trading as We Buy Any Shower ("we", "us"). Our address is 9 Penntiow Golf, Cott Road, Lostwithiel, Cornwall, PL22 0FB and our email is lostoak@hotmail.com. You can contact us by email at any time.

2. Our contract with you

When you pay through PayPal at checkout, you are offering to buy the showers in your basket. Our contract starts when we email you to confirm your order. If we can't accept your order (for example, the item is out of stock or the price shown was a clear mistake), we'll tell you and refund you in full.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling and are shown before checkout, together with any discounts and delivery charges. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged on our prices. Payment is taken through PayPal. We never see or store your card details.

4. Discounts

• Trade account holders get 5% off every new shower.
• A trade-in discount (7% for a good used or brand-new shower, or 3% for a marked or damaged one) applies to one new shower bought at the same time as the trade-in. See our Trade-in Terms.
• The total discount on any single new shower is never more than 7%. The £3.50 postage refund for a working trade-in is separate and doesn't count towards that 7%.

5. Delivery

We deliver to UK addresses only. Delivery costs £8 per shower and is shown as a separate line in your basket before you pay. Discounts apply to shower prices only, not to delivery. We'll deliver within 7 days of confirming your order. The shower is your responsibility from the time it is delivered to you or to someone you have named.

6. Installation and safety

Electric showers must be installed by a qualified electrician in line with BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations) and the Building Regulations. The water connection must comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

7. Your right to cancel

You can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you (or someone you name) receive the shower. If your order arrives in parts, the 14 days start when you receive the last part.

To cancel, tell us clearly before the 14 days are up. You can email lostoak@hotmail.com or use the cancellation form below. You don't have to give a reason.

You must then send the shower back to us at 9 Penntiow Golf, Cott Road, Lostwithiel, Cornwall, PL22 0FB within 14 days of telling us you're cancelling. You pay the cost of returning it, unless it is faulty or not as described.

We'll refund the price and the standard delivery charge you paid, using the same payment method. The refund will be made within 14 days of us receiving the shower back, or within 14 days of you giving us proof that you've sent it, whichever comes first. If you chose a more expensive delivery option than our standard one, we won't refund the extra cost.

You can handle the shower as you would in a shop to check it. If it has been fitted, connected to water or mains electricity, or damaged, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value.

Cancelling an order that included a trade-in discount: the trade-in discount is cancelled too. We'll refund what you paid and then pay you the cash offer for your traded-in shower instead (if it was a working shower that qualifies for cash). See our Trade-in Terms.

8. If something is wrong with your shower

Your legal rights are not affected by these terms. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If your shower isn't:

• within 30 days of delivery you can reject it and get a full refund;
• after 30 days, or if you'd prefer, you can ask for a repair or replacement. If that isn't possible or doesn't fix the problem, you can get a price reduction or a refund;
• if the fault appears within six months of delivery, it is presumed to have been there at delivery unless we can prove otherwise.

If a shower is faulty or not as described, we'll pay reasonable return costs. Any manufacturer's guarantee is in addition to these rights.

9. Brands

We are an independent retailer. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Mira Showers or any other manufacturer whose products we sell. Brand names belong to their owners.

10. Free take-back of your old shower (WEEE)

Free take-back of your old shower. When you buy a new shower from us, we'll take back your old one free of charge, whatever the brand, as long as it's the same type or does the same job (for example, an old electric shower when you buy a new electric shower). Bring it to We Buy Any Shower, 9 Penntiow Golf, Cott Road, Lostwithiel, Cornwall PL22 0FB within 28 days of receiving your new shower, and quote your order number. Please email lostoak@hotmail.com first to arrange a time. Drop-off hours: 4pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

If you'd rather post it to us, you can, but you pay the postage. You can also take old electrical items to your local council recycling centre free of charge. Find your nearest one at recycleyourelectricals.org.uk.

Why recycle electricals. Please don't put old showers or other electrical items in your household bin. They can contain hazardous substances that may harm the environment and human health if they are not disposed of properly. Collecting them separately means they can be reused, recycled or recovered. Every time you hand in an old item, you help with this.

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on electrical products means they must not be thrown away with unsorted household waste. They should be taken to a separate collection point instead.

11. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable. We don't exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breaching your legal rights in relation to the goods. If you are a trade or business customer (not a consumer), our total liability to you in connection with an order is limited to the total value of that order. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. This limit does not apply to consumers, and it does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Complaints and law

If you have a complaint, please email lostoak@hotmail.com and we'll reply within 5 working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
